A Researcher's Guide to Peptide Storage and Handling

Published September 4, 2026 Updated September 4, 2026 PeptideLab Technical Team

Storage of Lyophilized Peptides

Store lyophilized peptides at -20 °C, desiccated, and protected from light. Under these conditions, most research peptides remain stable for long periods.

Reconstitution

  • Equilibrate the vial to room temperature before opening to avoid condensation.
  • Use sterile water or a buffer appropriate for the application.
  • Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of reconstituted solutions.

Handling Best Practices

Keep reconstituted solutions at 2–8 °C and use within the period stated on the product documentation. Always refer to the specific storage guidance provided with each batch.
